(Pictures coming soon) The Sydney school continued to build slowly but surely, and in March 2007 we entrusted the complete running of the school to a recent graduate of the IKMF Civilian Instructors Course - Kurt. Tim ended his contract with the airlines, and was about to move back to Brisbane. Kurt completed his instructors training in Adelaide and Sydney under Eyal. It shouldn't come as a surprise to know that Kurt was one of our most loyal and dedicated students in Sydney. His passion, dedication, and commitment to Krav Maga, the IKMF, and the Krav Maga Training Academy (Brisbane and Sydney) is a great asset to himself and of course us. Kurt is still responsible for running our school and weekly regular class at Parramatta.
Advanced Training In April, June and November 2007 Tim travelled to Hungary, Poland and Israel to undertake further training. He completed different courses and training under IKMF head Eyal Yanilov, and senior Global Instructors Amnon Darsa, and Ze'ev (Zevik) Cohen.
Back at Home In September 2007, we expanded our Brisbane-based classes in to the CBD. During our first 2 nights we had over 26 new students sign on! Of course numbers settled down, and we ended up with a good core-group of dedicated students. Through the last few months of 2007, in addition to regular classes, private training, and numerous public workshops, KMTA held tailored training sessions for:
We are also proud to announce that the KMTA has held the biggest ever single-level Krav Maga student assessment (from one school) in Australia! In December we had 19 students from both our Brisbane locations grade for their first level - P1. Two students were unwell on the day and unfortunately could not attend. However, as soon as we test them in early 2008, we will have 21 students assessed for their P1 for the end of 2007! We are very proud of all our students, regardless of rank. They have shown their dedication, commitment, and have achieved accordingly.
