Director and Head Instructor - Expert Level 1 Tim is the Director and head instructor for the Krav Maga Training Academy. He has been training in Krav Maga since it first started in Australia, and is in his 6th year as a Krav Maga instructor.
Tim is one of only 4 people in Australia who received certifications by the IKMF as an instructor in both the restricted Law Enforcement and Military components of Krav Maga. He also currently works in both the military and law enforcement sectors. Tim has trained in a number of countries in Europe, Asia, and in Israel at IKMF HQ in Netanya, with the head instructors of Krav Maga. He is currently one of the most active Krav Maga instructors in Australia, running regular lunch and evening classes five days a week in Brisbane, numerous personal training and corporate sessions, and regular workshops in both Brisbane and Sydney. In November 2009 Tim was graded by Eyal Yanilov, head of the IKMF, and became the youngest in Australia to achieve the rank of "Expert Level 1." He is the the first in Australia to reach E1 that started off as a beginner Krav Maga student. There are no other Expert Levels in QLD, and only 5 others in Australia. |
Instructor - Graduate Level 2 Karen is one of the newest additions to the KMTA instructor team. Having recently (2009) completed the Civilian Instructor Course under Eyal Yanilov (head of the IKMF), Karen has been training Krav Maga since 2006. She has been a prominent part of the KMTA team as a student, regular all-round admin assistant, and training assistant since 2007.
Karen is very active in her training, taking all possible opportunities to enhance her skills. She has also attended numerous local workshops on specialised topics, assisted with community programs, and attended several national camps, gaining experience from a variety of highly ranked instructors. In addition to training and teaching Krav Maga, Karen is also completing a PhD in the biological sciences. Karen is one of only a few female instructors in Australia and we are proud to have her a part of the KMTA instructors team! |
