KMTA Instructors - Suzy

Civilian Instructor - Krav Maga Training Academy
Qualifications: IKMF Civilian Instructor Course
Rank: Graduate Level 1

Suzy first started training with Krav Maga in Washington, DC in 2013.  She was looking for something that would challenge her both physically and mentally, as well as provide her with self-defense knowledge.  In 2019 Suzy began teaching after completing her first instructors course in the U.S.A, and in 2020 she became a fully certified instructor and assessor in that system.

Suzy moved to Australia in early 2021 and reached out to Tim Alexander at KMTA to continue her Krav Maga journey.  She pushed herself further again and completed her IKMF Civilian Instructor Course (CIC) in September 2021, bringing with her an immense amount of experience.

Her favorite part about teaching is being able to empower individuals, especially women, to be their most confident self.  She also enjoys watching that light bulb moment happen during her class or while discussing Krav Maga techniques with her students.

Suzy was born and raised in Costa Rica and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Latin American Studies from Wellesley College, and a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies with a focus on Security Studies from Georgetown University.  Suzy is friendly, outgoing, and knows how to get the best out of both herself and her students in Krav Maga through regular classes and personal training.
